The harsh environment, cold waters and massive flow of the George River create what is known by many as the strongest Atlantic salmon in the world.

Our lodges are located inside a leased territory, that runs for 40 miles. This vastness allows you to fish different waters everyday, without seeing a soul. Fly fishing is done the ‘classic’ way: wade & work the pool, as the dark waters won’t usually drop a hint on where the fish is sitting.

The amazing variety of fish species is why it ranks high among globally remarkable places. We initiated a catch and release policy in the early 80’s, a cutting-edge approach, that greatly impacted our fishing experience. Northern fish are old fish, and we wished to protect and create trophy trout fishing opportunities for the next generations.

All our efforts are focussed on getting you on the right water, at the right time. We only host 7 guests a week, with a crew of 4 permanent guides. This creates a single 1/1 (guide/guest) weekly matchup, to accommodate any specifics. Small groups make our day-to-day schedule flexible…so we can set the day’s plan early in the morning, with the right information in hand (weather, water condition, etc.).

Our Season

  • Mid July – Early August:

These weeks are entirely focused on resident species fishing, and black salmon. The walking-distance tributaries are very popular during this period.

  • August:

First fresh-run salmon usually shows up in the first few days of August (Water level usually governs this). Diversity is the way to describe this first part of the season; Black salmon still around and abundant, sea-run salmon’s arrival, landlocked salmon, landlocked char, Brookies and lakers. All these fish species, in the same waters.

  • September:

Salmon focused, as trout fishing closes on September 7th . Our territory holds registered spawning grounds, so the late runs tend to stop around our area, making salmon very abundant.

The fishing season in northern Quebec runs from the middle of July until the end of September.

The northern fishing season is short, but all our periods get an intense and unpredictable dose of action. This is the sport of fishing.
