I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for a terrific hunt this past September. The attention to every detail by your entire staff made this the best hunting trip I have ever had. I would like to specifically thank Martin, our guide in camp, for his professional and courteous manner and in particular his desire to do everything he could to help me find caribou under some tough hunting conditions. He was truly a great companion to have in the field. Thanks to his efforts I was able to successfully execute a very long stalk over open ground to make a 3 yard shot on a nice bull with my longbow.

I’ve already begun planning for a return trip with my son for his first big game hunting adventures. I look forward to seeing you all again soon and wish you all good health and good fortunes.

"I would like to take this opportunity to give you my opinion of my recent stay with you.

We heard of Norpaq by searching the Web. The information package we received was excellent and covered all our potential questions. It also provided us with knowledge of the equipment we would need. We had everything we needed and nothing that we did not need.  Very concise list of equipment needed.

The reservation system was very good, easy to understand and complete. The billing procedure was very clear and easy to understand. We knew exactly what costs were and when they were due.

The operation is very well run. We called your representative on our arrival in Montreal and he provided clear instruction on what was to happen, when and where we were to meet and how we were to be transported to the airport. On arrival at the airport, we were met by another representative who again explained clearly on what we were going to do next. Our initial departure was delayed, but your representative called our room and advised us that we would be late and gave us the opportunity to sleep in a bit longer.

On our arrival in Schefferville we were again met by your representative who once again explained what we were going to do. All of our equipment was taken care of and we went to your airbase. Again, your representatives quickly and efficiently took care of us, and we soon had a pleasant flight to Pons Lake. We hunted from September 3 to September 9.

When we arrived there, the four guides and the cook met us at the dock and introduced themselves and explained what we would be doing as far as the hunting went.  The reverse was true on our departure.  At all times, a guide was readily available to us to answer any questions, or to do for us whatever we asked.

The boats and motors were very adequate and seemed to be reliable and in good repair.  Cabins were sufficient for our needs.

The food was very good, and I cannot say enough good things about the cook – Lilly.  She was first class in everything.

Overall service from Montreal, through Schefferville, at the camp and back was first class.  Everyone we dealt with seemed determined to do his /her best for us.

While we were at Pons Lake there was a great abundance of game available.  We specifically went looking for small caribou which would be best for eating and had great opportunities for hunting.

Our guide was Tommy, unfortunately I do not know his last name.  He is eighteen years old and was a real pleasure to be with.  We couldn’t help notice that when he was not busy with us, he was always doing something constructive around the camp.  Tommy has an excellent personality and always showed great enthusiasm. At first he did not understand that we were not after the “trophy rack”, just caribou for eating.  He tried to coax us to wait for a bigger caribou and perhaps an easier shot.  He was skillful in his handling of the game once it was down.  We enjoyed his company and guidance.

While we were at Pons Lake, there was an abundance of caribou within sight of the camp so we really did not venture too far from the camp.  I have no basis to express an opinion of his knowledge of the area, but we felt that if the need arose to venture farther in, we would have confidence in him.

Tommy’s understanding of English is well enough to communicate with us.  We had no problem understanding what he was telling us, and he understood all of our requests.

We couldn’t have been happier that Tommy was our guide.  He is a very energetic and likeable man.

I would not hesitate to recommend Norpaq to anyone who asked my opinion.

Overall, specifically because of the abundance of game, my expectations of this trip were greatly surpassed.

The biggest problem was trying to work up a sufficient appetite to eat all the wonderful meals Lilly prepared for us.  Among other things, he makes the best homemade bread.

I would like to comment on the butcher you recommended.  This is one area that greatly exceeded my expectations.  The meat was very clean, packed in vacuum packs, and clearly labeled.  We really appreciated the provision of the plastic meat containers.  It certainly made it easier for us to transport the meat.

I would certainly accept to be a reference to any potential clients.

In closing, I wish to thank you for a wonderful experience. I want to emphasize how much your staff at Pons Lake – Lilly, our cook, Perry, the camp leader, Colin, Henry and Tommy – added to our enjoyment. I hope the future holds another visit for me. Thank all of you for a great week".
